A great place to work

The employees at Torghatten are our most important assets. Our most vital task is to take care of our people, which is to be reflected in everything we do as a company.

One of these tasks is to ensure the safety of all the people working on our ferries. As well as making sure that all our employees have the skill set required to do their job in a safe and sound way. It is fundamental that our leaders are good role models who always bring out the best in people.

That is why we have:

  1. A comprehensive program for leadership development and culture building through, among other things, a close collaboration with MOT
  2. A program focused on competence development for employees working at sea, ensuring that they always have the required skill set
  3. A course portfolio consisting of compulsory courses within HSE, maintenance management and cyber security

HR-Forum

Torghatten’s HR forum works strategically to ensure interaction between the subsidiaries and Torghatten AS. The forum is an important arena for this work and has established a framework for culture development within the group through ethical guidelines, a leadership platform, and an employee platform. The two latter are concretizations of our ethics and values. We have collaborated when choosing the tools to support HR activities, developed our leadership program in collaboration with MOT, and are working on the framework for an upcoming succession plan and talent development.

Gender Equality

The maritime business is dominated by men, but Torghatten is actively working to recruit more women at all levels. Full gender equality is emphasized when recruiting to all positions. The Torghatten group had approximately 1,400 permanent employees by the end of 2021, corresponding to approximately 1,150 FTEs. The number of women was calculated at 265, corresponding to 19% of the total amount of employees.

The leadership group in Torghatten consists of four men and five women. The proportion of women and men on the board of Torghatten AS is 17 and 83 percent respectively.
